Welcome to Dromin National School

Dromin National School is a rural, mixed primary school located in the parish of Dunleer. As one of three primary schools in the parish, we are proud to be at the heart of our local community. We currently welcome 101 pupils from Junior Infants to Sixth Class, providing a friendly, inclusive and supportive environment where every child is encouraged to learn, grow and thrive.

Our School

Our dedicated team includes six teachers, including our Teaching Principal and Special Education Teacher, supported by two fantastic SNAs who play an important role in helping our pupils to reach their full potential. Our school building includes four mainstream classrooms and a dedicated Special Education classroom, creating a welcoming and nurturing learning environment for all our pupils.

A Great Place to Learn and Play

At Dromin National School, we believe that learning extends far beyond the classroom. Our pupils have access to a range of excellent facilities, including:

A bright and colourful playground
A school garden where pupils can learn, explore and get involved in nature
An all-weather Astroturf
A large playing field
Access to a spacious Sports Hall
Use of our local GAA pitch

These facilities provide our pupils with plenty of opportunities to stay active, develop new skills and enjoy learning together.

Learning for Today and Tomorrow

Technology is an important part of school life at Dromin. Every classroom is equipped with an Interactive Whiteboard, and pupils have access to a range of laptops and tablets to support their learning and develop their digital skills.

Our School Day

Our school day begins at 9.20am and finishes at 3.00pm. Our infant classes finish at 2.00pm.

At Dromin National School, we are proud to provide a happy, welcoming and inclusive school community where children are encouraged to be curious, confident and kind. We value the contribution of every pupil, family and member of our school community and strive to make Dromin a place where every child feels that they belong.
